Pineapple Prices Spike in Russia

In 2025, pineapple prices in Russia increased by 16%, with a sharp rise reported by ATOL based on Shot Telegram channel data. The strongest price hike occurred in October, with a 7% increase within the month. Just a month earlier, the average price of a pineapple was 567 rubles, rising to 607 rubles in November. Back in 2024, the fruit could be purchased for 523 rubles. It is predicted that prices might increase by another 10% before the end of the year. Authors note that in Moscow, pineapples are sold for prices ranging from 600 to 1200 rubles per kilogram, depending on the variety, country of origin, and logistics. Around 80% of the pineapples on the market come from Costa Rica.
