Business Desk: If you are planning to carry out important banking transactions in December, plan ahead. Banks will remain closed for 18 days in December. Due to regional and local festivals, bank holidays differ in various states of the country, so not all bank holidays are uniform across all states. These 18 holidays are spread across different states. As per the RBI’s holiday list, the holidays in December have been announced.
Find out when and where banks will be closed: 1 December (Monday) – Itanagar and Kohima: Bank closed on Inauguration Day/World Tribal Day. 3 December (Wednesday) – Goa: Bank closed on St. Francis Xavier’s Day. 7 December (Sunday) – Weekly off. 12 December (Saturday) – Shillong: Holiday on Pa-Togan Nengminza Sangma’s Birthday. 13 December (Sunday)- Bank closed nationwide. 14 December (Sunday) – Weekly off. 18 December (Friday) – Shillong: Holiday on U SoSo Tham’s Birthday. 19 December (Saturday) – Panaji: Bank closed on Goa Liberation Day. 20, 21, and 22 December (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) – Sikkim: Three consecutive holidays for Losoong/Namsoong and New Year’s Day.
Banking activities should not be disrupted – digital services will remain operational during holidays. There is no need to worry during holidays as UPI, internet banking, mobile apps, and other digital services will continue to function as usual.
