The Americans have presented a plan for the progress of Gaza to the Security Council. Egypt and Israel will coordinate the stabilization force to be in place by January. Several countries have signed up. The stabilization force will be coordinated by Egypt and Israel, along with a Palestinian police force to be established and trained, as stated in the draft, as reported by Axios and Haaretz. The force will include soldiers from several countries, with Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Turkey already volunteering to participate, Axios reports. Additionally, the American plan entails the establishment of a ‘peace council,’ which President Donald Trump himself will lead. The peace council is intended to provide time for a technocratic Palestinian administration to be put in place. It is very ambitious to expect the Security Council to be able to vote on the stabilization force as early as next week. However, a lot of work may have been done behind the scenes.
