Justice Moraes votes to convict disinformation core The Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister Alexandre de Moraes voted on Tuesday (21) to convict seven defendants from the core 4, responsible for disinformation actions linked to the so-called plotter scheme. In the minister’s view, the evidence confirms that the group played essential roles in articulating the coup attempt that aimed to keep former President Jair Bolsonaro in power, even after his defeat in the 2022 elections. In the case of one defendant, Carlos Cesar Moretzsohn Rocha, president of the Legal Vote Institute, Moraes found the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGR) partially valid and convicted him of only two of the five crimes: organized crime and attempted abolition.
