Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong will be in South Africa from Nov 21 to 23 to attend the annual Group of 20 (G-20) leaders’ summit in Johannesburg. The summit will focus on global issues like climate change and geopolitical instability. Following the G-20 meeting, PM Wong will visit Ethiopia from Nov 23 to 25. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa highlighted the importance of finding solutions to urgent challenges in Africa. During the summit, discussions will include topics such as climate-induced disasters and sustainable debt for low-income countries. PM Wong will also engage in bilateral meetings with other world leaders. Singapore, although not a member of the G-20, has participated as a guest country for close to two decades. The invitation for PM Wong to attend the summit came from President Ramaphosa.
