Police Chief’s Lover Poisons Him with Eye Drops and Hides Body in Warehouse

A woman from Illinois has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for poisoning her long-time boyfriend with eye drops in the USA. The remains of 71-year-old retired police chief Richard Young were found in October 2022 in a warehouse opposite the house where he lived with his long-time lover, 53-year-old Marci Oglesby. Forensic experts determined that Young had passed away as early as November 2021 and had been poisoned with eye drops. Oglesby was charged with the crime. The investigation revealed that since the summer of 2021, she had been adding eye drops to Young’s food and drinks, eventually leading to his fatal poisoning. Afterwards, Oglesby moved the body of her former lover to a storage unit and hid it there. Despite denying involvement in Young’s death, she claimed to have been in a relationship with him against her will for 20 years. The court was not convinced by Oglesby’s statements, and she was sentenced to 50 years in prison. The exact motive for the crime remains unknown.
