Powerful Earthquake Hits Afghanistan – November 3, 2025

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 has hit Afghanistan. According to CNN, hundreds of casualties are expected. At the time of publication, four deaths have been confirmed. The seismic activity was recorded on November 3 near Mazar-i-Sharif, one of the most densely populated cities in northern Afghanistan, and Khulm. The earthquake was also felt by residents of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, according to the US Geological Survey. The USGS PAGER system has issued an orange alert level, predicting economic and human losses.
