Prabowo for President of South Korea: All Indonesian Youth Crazy About K-Pop

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, attended the APEC 2025 summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, and held a bilateral meeting with President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung. The meeting, filled with warmth, not only discussed cooperation between the two countries but also touched on the current trendy cultural phenomenon known as K-pop.

At the beginning of the discussion, quoted from detikNews, Prabowo expressed his respect for the organization of APEC, which he considered a total success under President Lee’s leadership. He praised how the event was held with great precision, efficiently, and always on time, typical of the Land of Ginseng.

“I would like to congratulate you on your leadership at APEC. This event was organized very well, very efficiently, and always on time down to the minute,” said President Prabowo Subianto at HICO Gyeongju, Saturday (1/11/2025).

Not stopping there, Prabowo also thanked for the magnificent dinner hosted by the host. In a casual manner, he made a joke that lightened the atmosphere, talking about the significant influence of K-pop in the country.

“I would like to thank you for the festive dinner last night. The event was very interesting, and I believe Korea will conquer the world with your music and dance. All Indonesian youth, they are all crazy about K-pop,” continued Prabowo.

President Lee Jae Myung responded with a warm smile. He expressed his happiness to hear the enthusiasm of the Indonesian people towards Korean culture, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening the relationship between the two countries, especially in a global era full of uncertainty.

“Currently, we are living in an unstable security environment. Therefore, I would like to ask you, Mr. President, to share some of your wisdom with me and the Republic of Korea,” said President Lee.

In this bilateral meeting, Prabowo was accompanied by several ministers including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Investment and Industrial Estate Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
