Putin had a phone call with Erdogan

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone call. They exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and discussed the US peace plan, according to the Kremlin. During the dialogue, Putin emphasized that the American proposals correspond to the discussions at the high-level meeting between Russia and the US in Alaska and could serve as a basis for a final peaceful settlement. Additionally, the Russian president once again expressed Moscow’s interest in a political-diplomatic resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. Erdogan, on his part, stated readiness to assist the negotiation process and provide Istanbul as a platform for these purposes. The leaders decided to intensify Russian-Turkish contacts on the Ukrainian issue at various levels.
