Putin warned about threat to the Northern Sea Route

After 2035, there is a serious threat of a decrease in the cargo flow along the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The Governor of the Murmansk region, Andrey Chibis, stated this during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as reported by ‘Kommersant’. He reminded that in ten years, all projects and oil fields currently supporting traffic in the Arctic Ocean will be depleted. Therefore, new resources need to be developed in order to maintain transportation, requiring active investment decisions.
