A recent weekly update from pv magazine, provided by Solcast, a DNV company, revealed that despite unusual weather conditions, several regions in Asia saw an increase in solar irradiance compared to seasonal averages in August. Japan, Thailand, South Korea, eastern China, and Taiwan all experienced higher levels of solar radiation, indicating the resilience of solar energy systems in adverse weather. On the other hand, Indonesia and Malaysia faced a decline in solar irradiance during the same period. Despite facing challenges like high temperatures and heavy rainfall, solar energy generation remained feasible in many parts of Asia.
