Renault’s CEO, François Provost, announced that the company will unveil a new five-year strategic plan at the beginning of 2026, aiming to increase reliability to Toyota’s level, accelerate development like Chinese car manufacturers, and launch a new generation of electric vehicles. The company has shown its ability to work quickly with the creation of the new Twingo in just two years under the Leap 100 program, and now plans to extend this pace to its entire model lineup. Renault intends to reduce development cycles, optimize costs, and respond faster to changes in the global economy and technologies.
Future Renault electric vehicles, including successors to the Megane and Scenic models, will feature the new AmpR Medium platform with 800-volt architecture, Valeo engines with record efficiency (12 kWh per 100 km), and combined NCM+LFP batteries. Charging from 15 to 80% will take just 15 minutes, and the models will be 40% cheaper compared to the current Megane E-Tech.
Provost emphasized Renault’s goal to become a benchmark for quality, hinting at Toyota by referencing brands starting with “T”. The company is also focusing on expanding into South America and India, but Europe remains its main priority as the French brand prepares for a new wave of electrification.
