The success of Richa Ghosh is a matter of pride for the country, for Bengal. In a special event at Eden Gardens on Saturday, the World Cup-winning wicketkeeper-batter, Richa Ghosh, was honored by the BCCI and the West Bengal government. Mamata Banerjee awarded her the Banga Bhushan and appointed Richa as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Not only that, the West Bengal government gifted the star a golden chain. The Cricket Association of Bengal awarded Richa 34 lakh Rupees for every run she scored in the World Cup final. Richa became the first Bengali cricketer to lift the World Cup in her hands.
