The Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo bid a sad farewell to their beloved companion Rosa Tarlovsky de Roisinblit, vice president of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo until 2021 when, due to her advanced age, she became honorary president of the institution. Rosita, as the young Grandmothers paradoxically call her, passed away at 106 years old, leaving behind a huge amount of work and a career as a human rights leader in the country and the world, the organization announced on social media. Rosa Tarlovsky de Roisinblit was born on August 15, 1919, in Moisés Ville, Santa Fé province, Argentina. Daughter of Jewish settlers, she graduated as an obstetrician from the National University of the Litoral and later became chief midwife at the Maternity School of Obstetrics in Rosario.
