Rossi Redeems Himself, Flamengo Beats Estudiantes and Advances to Libertadores Semifinals

Flamengo is through to the Libertadores semifinals. In a penalty shootout, the Rubro-Negro defeated Estudiantes 4-2 on Thursday (25), in the second leg of the quarterfinals, after losing 1-0 in normal time. Benedetti, who scored the goal that took the match to penalties, went from hero to villain as he was denied by Rossi in the shootout, along with Ascacíbar. Conversely, Rossi, who made an error in Benedetti’s goal in the first half, redeemed himself by saving two penalties and securing Flamengo’s qualification.
