RST: Cancellation of Chinese visas will lead to a 30-40% increase in tourist flow from Russia to the country

China has been among the top 5 destinations for Russian travelers. In recent years, the practice of unilaterally canceling visas by China for citizens of other countries has been in vogue. Yet, there is still uncertainty about whether the entry principle for Chinese citizens into Russia will change. Currently, they must apply for a visa up to 30 days prior to arrival.

Russian travel companies are optimistic about the potential increase of 30-40% in tourist flow if Chinese visa requirements are relaxed. This can have a significant impact on the Russian tourism industry, especially considering China’s popularity among Russian travelers.

According to Andrey Ignatiev, President of the Russian Tourism Association, such a boost in tourist flow will generate revenue and create new job opportunities within the industry. It will also strengthen ties between Russia and China, benefiting both countries economically.

The cancellation of Chinese visas for Russians could lead to a boost in not only tourist numbers but also diverse cultural exchanges between the two nations. This could foster mutual understanding and promote further cooperation in various fields.

The Russian-Chinese tourism relationship is crucial for both nations, given the economic benefits it brings. Any relaxation in visa requirements will not only increase tourist flow but also enhance cultural understanding and bilateral relations between Russia and China.

As the uncertainty continues regarding visa changes, Russian tourists remain hopeful for a more accessible travel process to China. This anticipated increase in tourist flow can have wide-reaching positive effects on the economies and cultural exchanges of both countries.
