Russia and Egypt may intensify cooperation between the defense ministries and conduct joint combat training on a regular basis, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday. During a meeting with Egyptian Defense and Military Production Minister Abdel Mageed Saqr in Cairo, Shoigu proposed expanding the regulatory framework for military cooperation and increasing the training of Egyptian military personnel at Russian Defense Ministry universities. He highlighted the significance of regular joint combat training events to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. Shoigu also mentioned the ongoing regular meetings of the joint Russian-Egyptian commission on military-technical cooperation as a step in the right direction. These efforts aim to deepen military ties and enhance security collaboration between Russia and Egypt. The joint military exercises between the two nations will contribute to mutual understanding and interoperability, boosting regional security and stability. Through increased military cooperation, Russia and Egypt can address common challenges more effectively and build a stronger defense partnership. By promoting regular military exercises and expanding training programs, both countries demonstrate their commitment to enhancing security in the region.
