Russian and Norwegian delegations have started discussions on total allowable catches and quota distribution for jointly managed fishery resources in the Barents and Norwegian Seas. This was announced today, December 8th, by the press service of the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery. The meeting is being conducted via video conference, with the Russian delegation led by the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery, Ilya Shestakov. This year, the four working groups within the commission (for statistics, scientific cooperation, control, and North-East Atlantic seals) will not convene, due to sanctions imposed by the Kingdom of Norway on Russian fishing companies, as explained by the agency.
