Russian State Duma suggests not canceling fines from ‘incorrect’ traffic cameras

The State Duma’s Committee on Construction suggests not adopting a bill that would enable canceling fines issued based on data from cameras installed improperly, as reported by the ‘Kommersant’ publication. This bill was introduced in 2021 and approved in the first reading in December of the same year. The proposal at that time was to establish requirements for traffic cameras and their software, as well as to regulate their installation. Fines for traffic violations from cameras not meeting the requirements were supposed to be canceled.
