With each new financial statement, Flamengo and Palmeiras reinforce that their success on the field – together, six-time champions in the last ten Brazilian Championships – is no coincidence. It is supported by a moment of great financial stability. In recent weeks, the clubs released their first semester financial statements, revealing a noteworthy figure: the combined revenue exceeded R$ 1.4 billion. With increases – compared to the same period last year – in competition shares (fixed broadcast rights and prizes), commercial and social revenues, Flamengo reached R$ 657 million in revenue. Palmeiras, on the other hand, earned R$ 771 million, also with increases in tournament shares, commercial and social revenues, as well as player transfers and other undisclosed revenues. Common in their accounts, both clubs seemingly had a significant influence from the revenues received from participating in the Club World Cup in the United States, which concluded last month.
