Scientists Discover World’s Oldest Mummies in China, 9,500 Years Older Than Egyptian Mummies

A recent study conducted by scientists has uncovered what they believe to be the world’s oldest mummies in China and Southeast Asia. These mummies, which were studied by Professor Peter Bellwood, precede Egypt’s mummies by a staggering 9,500 years. The research focused on 54 pre-Neolithic burials discovered at 11 different archaeological sites in southern China and Southeast Asia. These burials contained samples that ranged from 4,000 to 14,000 years old.
