Seoul’s Industry Minister Holds Talks on AI and Energy Cooperation with UAE Counterpart

South Korean Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan met with his United Arab Emirates (UAE) counterpart to discuss cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) and energy sectors. The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi, where the two officials exchanged views on strengthening ties in these fields following a recent bilateral summit. The leaders of both countries agreed to enhance economic cooperation across various sectors, including the development of a joint cooperation model based on the Barakah nuclear power plant. This plant, constructed by the Korea Electric Power Corp., represents South Korea’s maiden overseas nuclear energy project. Additionally, Seoul has committed to participating in the UAE’s Stargate project, focusing on AI and energy infrastructure. The discussions also touched on advancing collaboration in areas such as advanced manufacturing, petroleum, liquefied natural gas, and battery technology.
