Sept 5 South Africa (Fairview/Greyville) Form Analysis

Race 1 (1,200m)
An interesting opening event. Newcomer (7) LOTUS SILK is a Rafeef filly who represents the strong Richard Fourie-Alan Greeff combination and could score on debut. (5) ICED MARMALADE did not show her best on the Polytrack and is likely to improve back on the turf. The well-bred (3) GOLDEN CHANCE should also be respected.

Race 2 (1,200m)
The lightly raced (1) MOUNT PLEASANT comes off a good last-start win and has the potential to continue progressing. (7) NAVAJO CHIEF is a consistent performer who should be in the mix once again. Don’t discount the chances of (4) OMEGA ONSLAUGHT, who is capable of causing an upset.

Race 3 (1,200m)
The Alan Greeff-trained (1) NEXUS is the one to beat after some solid performances over this distance. However, (2) GREEN LANTERN has shown promise and could pose a threat. (3) LARKHAM was not far behind last time and is another contender to consider.

Race 4 (1,800m)
(2) MALEFICENT has been consistent and could finally break through here. Keep an eye on (5) EQUAL RIGHTS, who has been knocking on the door and is due for a win. (1) PATHS OF VICTORY is a danger if able to reproduce past form.

Race 5 (1,800m)
The top selection here is (7) CAPTAIN HOOK, who has been in good form and should relish the distance. Look for (2) MASTER OF DISGUISE to be competitive, while (4) SNOWY MOUNTAIN can’t be overlooked. The improving (6) SUNNY BILL DU-TOY is one to watch.

Race 6 (1,400m)
The consistent (1) KING OF ACES is well placed to feature prominently. (2) MONSIEUR GASTON is capable of a big run if things go his way. (4) GOLDEN WINE could surprise at longer odds. Expect a competitive race.

Race 7 (1,000m)
(5) SHREWD MOVER stands out as the one to beat, having shown ability in recent starts. However, watch out for (7) ELLE VA and (8) HARMONY ROSE, who both have claims in this race. It could be a tight finish with any of these runners.

Race 8 (1,000m)
In a competitive finale, (6) GUN HILL is the pick to take the victory. (4) CROWN GUARDIAN and (2) MATEUS can’t be discounted and are likely to be in the mix. Keep an eye on (8) BLAZE OF SILK for a possible upset.
