Seven Teams Tighten Race for Promotion to Serie A; Check the Chances

The fight for promotion to Serie A became even tighter after the end of the 36th round of the Brazilian Serie B, according to the Department of Mathematics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
Tight Race
Coritiba is almost there. Leading, Coxa defeated the already relegated Paysandu and can secure promotion next weekend.
The competition gets tighter for the other three spots. Athletico, in second place, is only two points ahead of Novorizontino, which is seventh.
Furacão had the best performance in this round. Besides defeating Volta Redonda, the team benefited from the draw between Remo and Novorizontino and Chapecoense’s loss to América-MG, taking over the second place.
Goiás and Criciúma also did well. Previously distant from the fight, both won against Cuiabá and Atlético-GO, respectively, closing the gap with the others.
CRB, Atlético-GO, and Avaí practically said goodbye to the promotion fight. Already with low chances after the last round, teams from Santa Catarina and Goiás finished this round with zero points, and the Alagoans with only 0.02%.
