Indian share markets are currently experiencing the longest downturn in the past 5 years. Both the Sensex and Nifty indices closed with losses on Friday, August 8th. It was also the sixth consecutive week that both indices ended in the red. Before this, such a prolonged downturn was last seen in Indian share markets 5 years ago in April 2020.
