The Railway Department has taken a significant decision to increase the speed of trains between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state capitals by electrifying tracks. The electrification work on the electric traction system between Secunderabad and Vijayawada has been approved with a budget of RA.188.31 crore. Once these works are completed in three years, there will be a significant improvement in train speed and capacity, reducing delays for passengers and freight trains. In addition, several train services had to be canceled, routes adjusted, and rehabilitation efforts made due to recent storms.
