Skier Alexander Bakurov stated on Match TV that he is not expecting apologies from Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov after the incident in the sprint race semifinal at the FosAgro Cup in Kirovsk. Bolshunov fell on the last turn after a collision with Bakurov on Saturday. After crossing the finish line, Bolshunov approached Bakurov and pushed him in the back, causing Bakurov to fall. Bakurov, limping heavily, left the conflict area. Bolshunov was later disqualified from the sprint event. ‘I won’t race on Sunday unless I receive a message apologizing to me. I’m not waiting for apologies. If he wants to, good. Apologies won’t change the situation. This behavior needs to be stopped, you can’t act like this,’ Bakurov said.
