Skoda, a Czech car manufacturing company, is set to introduce a range of world-class cars to the Indian market to cater to diverse consumers, as announced by the company’s CEO. Skoda currently sells cars ranging from over Rs 7 lakhs to upwards of Rs 40 lakhs in India, but there is currently no plan to introduce electric cars in the country. However, the next year will see the launch of imported cars like the Ford Polo in India.
Furthermore, in this year’s Auto Expo, we will be reintroducing initiatives to further enhance the market, aiming to introduce more world-class cars to India in the coming year, according to Skoda Auto India Brand Director Ashish Gupta. Skoda is currently selling models like the Kodiaq, Kushaq, and Slavia manufactured in countries like Austria and Croatia in the Indian market.
Skoda has sold models like the Octavia and Kodiak, which are imported with attractive features and designs, in the Indian market. Until now, Skoda India has sold 61,607 vehicles from January to October 2025, capturing a 2% market share in the passenger vehicle segment. Not only that, by 2025-26, Skoda aims to import 1.5 metric tons of sugar for production purposes, as approved by the central government.
