South African regulator registers almost 2 GW of projects from April to June

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NESRA) registered 111 generation facilities with a total capacity of 1,916 MW between April and June this year, the first quarter of South Africa’s latest financial year. NESRA says the new facilities, which include solar projects, demonstrate the country’s commitment to renewable energy sources. Solar technology led the way, with a significant share in the newly registered projects. These developments align with South Africa’s efforts to diversify its energy mix and move towards more sustainable sources. The growing interest in solar projects reflects a global trend towards cleaner energy solutions.
