Stigma and Discrimination Still Haunt PLHIV, Here’s Suggestions for the Government

Handling HIV/AIDS in Indonesia continues to be a major challenge, not only from a medical perspective, but also from a social standpoint. Stigma and discrimination against People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV/PLHA) are still perceived as strong and impactful, affecting their access to essential services and support. The Joint Indonesia Programme (JIP) emphasizes the urgent need for the government to address these issues and ensure that PLHIV/PLHA have access to dignified care and treatment. Public awareness campaigns and education are crucial to combat misinformation and negative perceptions surrounding HIV/AIDS.
