Stock Market Tumbles in Response to Trump’s Tariff Warning; Sensex-Nifty Drop – Find Out More Reasons

Mumbai: Global uncertainties, foreign capital outflows, and increasing trade tensions between the USA and India led to heavy pressure on the domestic stock market on Tuesday. President Donald Trump’s warning of imposing tariffs on rice imported from India further weakened investor sentiment. Additionally, market caution was evident ahead of the Federal Reserve policy meeting. In the initial trading, the BSE Sensex fell by 636.22 points to 84,466.47, while the NSE Nifty dropped by 193.25 points to 25,767.30. As per the closing numbers, Sensex closed at 84,620 with a decline of 482 points, while Nifty ended at 25,811.95 with a drop of 148 points.
