The Chennai Meteorological Department, in a recent news report, stated that yesterday (25-10-2025) morning a depression in the lower atmosphere over the coastal areas of South Karnataka intensified, moving northwestwards, and today (26-10-2025) at 05:30 AM, it is likely to further intensify into a cyclonic storm. This system is expected to bring heavy rains accompanied by gusty winds in the mentioned regions. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.
