Subaru is recalling 48 Solterra electric vehicles sold in China. The reason behind this recall is a software error in the surround view camera system. According to regulators, when starting the vehicle and immediately shifting into reverse, the image may temporarily freeze, shift, or not appear at all. This delay reduces control over the surrounding environment and creates a risk of error during maneuvering.
The issue affects cars manufactured from October 2022 to April 2023. Subaru notes that it is a software-related problem, so the solution will be straightforward: owners will receive a free update to the panoramic view system control.
The company has already begun notifying customers through registered letters and calls made by dealers. Users can also check recall information on the official website of the Chinese Defects Monitoring Center.
While the batch is small, the manufacturer emphasizes that any malfunction affecting visibility requires immediate correction. The software update should completely eliminate the risk and restore stable operation to the system.
