Supreme Court criticizes lack of independent investigation by agencies in Himachal Pradesh official’s death case

In a case related to the death of an official in Himachal Pradesh, the Supreme Court criticized the lack of proper investigations by authorities. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the investigating officials and highlighted the inability of responsible officers to be suitable for service. The incident involved the suspicious death of Vimal Negi, an official in the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd., which led to scathing remarks by the Supreme Court regarding agencies’ disciplinary actions. Along with the lack of cooperation from the accused in the investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also failed to present any notable evidence.
