Survivors rescued from school ruins in Indonesia

Most of those unaccounted for are teenagers aged 13 to 18, according to the country’s emergency agency on Thursday. So far, five people have been confirmed dead, but the many missing individuals could make this incident one of the deadliest building collapses in the country’s history. The collapsed school building is located in Central Sulawesi, which was hit by a strong earthquake followed by heavy rains. The combination of these natural disasters led to the tragic collapse of the school, trapping many students and staff under the rubble. Rescue teams have been working tirelessly to search for survivors amidst the dangerous conditions. The rescue operation has been challenging due to the unstable structure of the building and the risk of further collapse. Despite these challenges, the rescuers have managed to retrieve five survivors from the wreckage, providing a glimmer of hope in the midst of the tragedy. However, the search continues for the remaining individuals who are still missing. The community has come together to support the affected families and provide assistance to the rescue efforts. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this devastating event as the nation mourns the loss of lives and works towards rebuilding and recovery.
