Syrian President Al-Sharaa aims to strengthen ties with Egypt and Iraq

Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa has expressed his hope to develop bilateral relations with Egypt and Iraq. He described the current level of relations with both countries as ‘acceptable’ but emphasized the necessity for advancement to a ‘more developed and higher stage.’ Al-Sharaa made these comments during a meeting with a delegation from Damascus to commemorate ‘Liberation Day.’ He outlined Syria’s new foreign policy foundations, aiming for a broad regional and international balance. He highlighted the achievement of a level of balance in relations previously unattainable for the past century, with global attention no longer disregarding Damascus.
