The Tambaram City Municipal Corporation (TCMC) initiated a significant effort on Thursday to administer a mass vaccination campaign aimed at protecting 162,749 children between the ages of one and 15 against Japanese Encephalitis (JE), an infectious disease transmitted by mosquitoes. The campaign aims to provide a one-time dose of the vaccine, which will subsequently be integrated into the routine immunization schedule. Japanese Encephalitis is a viral illness that can lead to severe complications, making immunization crucial for the well-being of children in the region.
