Tamhini Ghat Accident: Lack of Safety Measures Leads to Tragic Incident

The last three years have seen 95 accidents at Tamhini Ghat, resulting in the death of 39 individuals and injuring 175. Multiple incidents have occurred on this route, with the latest occurring on October 31, 2025, where a car plunged off a cliff, claiming a woman’s life. Additionally, in March, an ST bus and a car collided, resulting in the death of two passengers. Prior to that, a tragic accident involving a wedding procession bus led to the death of five individuals. The conditions on Ambenali Ghat, connecting Mahad to Pune, are no different, as in 2018, a bus accident claimed the lives of 30 people.
