The largest 10 based on the number of speakers are: English with 1.5 billion speakers, Mandarin Chinese with 1.2 billion, Hindi with 609.1 million, Spanish with 558.5 million, Arabic with 334.8 million, French with 311.9 million, Bengali with 284.3 million, Portuguese with 266.6 million, Russian with 253.4 million, and Indonesian with 252.4 million speakers.
