The final day of Dubai Airshow 2025 witnessed a major accident involving the indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas, resulting in the death of Wing Commander Namansh Syal. The Indian Air Force (IAF) confirmed the incident and ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the unfortunate mishap.
A video that went viral shortly before the accident shows Wing Commander Namansh Syal interacting with Rajasthan Minister Sanjay Seth, Indian diplomat Deepak Mittal in UAE, and Foreign Ministry Secretary Asim Mahajan. Earlier, the pilot had showcased a brilliant performance at the Guwahati airshow.

The tragic accident occurred on Friday afternoon around 2:10 pm local time at Al Maktoum International Airport. The Tejas aircraft was performing maneuvers at the airshow when it suddenly lost control, crashing to the ground. The aircraft veered off course and was seen descending rapidly before impact.

Upon impact with the ground, a powerful explosion ensued. The viral video footage captured the aircraft rolling barrel before losing balance and crashing down. The Indian Air Force mourned the loss and issued orders for a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the crash.
