‘The Amusement Park this Friday’ Director Zeng Zhi: Women with scars can still find happiness

Director Zeng Zhi expressed his hopes of portraying a woman’s journey from losing control to regaining rationality and ultimately finding inner strength. On September 19th, the film ‘The Amusement Park this Friday’ premiered. The following day, the film held a roadshow event in Guangzhou, where director Zeng Zhi was interviewed by Southern News Network and Yue Study Client. ‘The Amusement Park this Friday’ is Zeng Zhi’s first feature film, telling the story of nurse Song Qian (played by Ying Ze) who habitually organizes her life with a notebook. Faced with her husband’s sudden departure, her daughter Yuan Yuan’s upcoming surgery, and her mother Lao Zhang’s declining memory, her routine life starts to unravel. In 2024, ‘The Amusement Park this Friday’ won the Best Film award at the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival’s Asian Newcomer section.
