The Country That Is Living In 2017, Where A Year Has 13 Months And New Year Comes In September

New Delhi: While most of the world is on the verge of wrapping up 2025, Ethiopia remains in the year 2017. It follows the Ge’ez or Ethiopian calendar, which is about seven to eight years behind the internationally recognized Gregorian calendar. This unique calendar consists of 13 months, with New Year’s Day falling in September in what is known as Enkutatash. This difference in timekeeping sets Ethiopia apart from the rest of the world, creating its own rhythm and pace of life.
