The fourth season of ‘The Witcher’ premiered on Netflix on October 30th, but the first reviews from critics surfaced only after the release of the new episodes. At the time of this writing, the approval rating among critics stood at 53% based on 17 reviews, while users rated it at 19%. Opinions among reviewers regarding the season itself and Liam Hemsworth, the new actor playing Geralt, were divided. Some considered the season to be of higher quality than its predecessors and the actor switch a good move, but opposing views on both aspects were also voiced. Some critics agree that the season has positive aspects, such as certain characters like Leo Bonhart or the interactions between the characters. However, they believe that overall viewers will get more or less the same as in previous seasons. The Rotten Tomatoes audience, on the other hand, noted script issues as well as the challenge of getting used to a new actor playing the role of Geralt after three seasons.
