Tian Qinxin, Duan Yihong, and Xing Jiadong attend a meeting for the play ‘Four Generations Under One Roof’ during the Great Bay Area Art Festival

On the afternoon of September 19th, a meeting for the play ‘Four Generations Under One Roof’ was held at the Guangzhou Grand Theatre. Director and President of the China National Theatre of Drama, Tian Qinxin, was joined by lead actors Duan Yihong (portraying the ‘Storyteller’) and Xing Jiadong (portraying ‘Coachman Xiao Cui’) to discuss core topics such as classic adaptations, character development, and behind-the-scenes creativity. Condensing 850,000 words into a 3-hour ‘epic of the common people’, this play is a highlight of the 5th Greater Bay Area Cultural and Art Festival, showcasing old Beijing’s Hutong during the wartime era through the lens of renowned playwright Lao She.
