The fight for the four spots in Serie A next year promises to liven up the last five rounds of the Brazilian Serie B. Ten teams have real chances in this final stretch, according to the Department of Mathematics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).

Coritiba leads Serie B and is the one with the best chances of promotion. However, the distance to Novorizontino, the first team out of the top 4, is only three points.
Chapecoense, Criciúma, Remo, and Novorizontino are tied with 54 points each. The first three are currently within the access zone to Serie A due to tiebreaker criteria.
Goiás, Athletico, Cuiabá, CRB, and Atlético-GO are a bit further behind but also have promotion chances. The latter two have lower possibilities as they are six points away from the top 4.
