The Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, commented on the tornado that hit the interior of Paraná on Friday (7). So far, five deaths and 130 injured have been confirmed in the city of Rio Bonito de Iguaçu. ‘I express our solidarity with the families of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu (PR) affected by the cyclone, and with the other municipalities in Paraná affected by the storms. I am already in contact with the mayors Sezar Bovino and Jaison (Laranjeiras do Sul), providing guidance on the procedures for declaring a state of emergency,’ he wrote. ‘Under President Lula’s guidance, and in coordination with Minister Gleisi Hoffmann, we are discussing plans for humanitarian aid, sending teams, and supporting reconstruction efforts. The federal government remains on full alert to support municipalities and ensure immediate assistance to the population,’ he continued.
