Toyota’s Land Cruiser: a new era with electric and hybrid versions on the horizon

According to the Japanese magazine Best Car, Toyota is preparing significant changes for the Land Cruiser lineup. For the first time in over 70 years, the legendary off-roader may adopt a monocoque platform, making it more akin to a crossover than a traditional body-on-frame SUV. Under this architecture, two new variants are expected to emerge: a fully electric SUV and a twin-row pickup truck with a unibody construction, set to rival Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz models. The latter will be the production version of the Toyota EPU concept revealed at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Show.
