US President Trump has stated that he is eagerly looking forward to speaking with Prime Minister Modi amid tensions over India imposing a 50% tariff on America, causing controversy. Trump said, ‘I have always been a good friend of Modi. However, I do not agree with some of the things he does in this specific instance. Nevertheless, India and America share a special relationship. There is nothing to worry about.’ Trump’s remarks came during a diplomatic standoff between the two nations over trade policies. Modi’s office has not yet commented on Trump’s statement.
