US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to potentially designate specific country chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as terror organizations. The directive requires Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to submit a report within 30 days on whether chapters in countries like Jordan, Lebanon, or Egypt should be labeled as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) or Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). If the report warrants such designations, sanctions could be imposed within 45 days. The aim is to neutralize any threats posed by these chapters to US citizens and national security.
