US leader Donald Trump expressed his desire to keep Budapest as a potential location for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He made this statement during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the White House. ‘I would like to have a meeting with President Putin in Hungary, in Budapest,’ he said. ‘I did not want to set up this meeting because I did not think it would lead to anything significant. But if it happens, I would like to hold it in Budapest.’ The American leader added that he would discuss the details of a possible summit in Budapest with Orban and provide further details later. Welcoming Orban just a few minutes earlier, Trump emphasized that a meeting with Putin in Budapest is always possible. ‘There is always a chance,’ he said, commenting on the possibility of a meeting with Putin in Hungary.
